THE ART OF CALLIGRAPHY

The term Calligraphy is derived from the Greek “kalligraphia’ meaning ”beautiful writing”. Calligraphy is done with a brush and has been a respected art form for many centuries. Artistic production in China goes back to about 6000BC.

The Chinese calligraphy brushes in his collection are made from jade, bamboo, coral, wood, bone and horsehair. The examples shown could be used as decorative ornaments on a table, hang on a wall or used for painting. They are highly collectible.
